My name is Tahieta Gosey-Bailey. I am an associate pastor at St. John’s United Methodist Church located in downtown Houston, Texas where our core ethos is to serve the least, the last and the lost.

I was born in Houston, Texas and have lived here for the entirety of my life. I am married to my wonderful husband Bernard Bailey and have a blended family of 6 children together.

I attended a dual degree program at Texas Southern University in conjunction with Rice University. My major was Pre-Med with a minor in Chemistry. I am an advocate for education and learning as a constant throughout life.

I also work for Shell Oil company as a project scheduler/materials coordinator. My professional career is both rewarding and challenging in the best ways possible. I love numbers and this allows me an outlet to challenge myself in ways that excite and enthusiastically brings joy.

Professionally, one of the most recent awards were from Shell Oil in recognition of working with Frontier Exploration in new countries such as Columbia, Suriname and Mexico. While navigating government regulations as well as contractual agreements, the assignment surrounding materials for drilling were an inherent success.

In my pastoral capacity, one of the most exciting parts is imparting wisdom and knowledge to people to help them understand that life is worth living. The best of life is learning to endure, persevere and enjoy. I am currently enrolled at Southern Methodist University and have a wonderful support system of family, ministry and friends.
