Dr. Gladys Smith Moton received her Bachelor of Science in Education from Texas Southern University, Master of Education from Prairie View A & M University, and Doctor of Education form the University of Houston. As a child she knew she wanted to be an educator. She followed her passion as she served 34 years in the field of education prior to retiring in 2019. After serving seven months as an assistant principal, God shared with her in a dream to apply for the job of principal even though she did not meet any of the application requirements due to her lack of experience as an AP. Dr. Moton was obedient to the Holy Spirit and was promoted to principalship in 1995 where she served in that role for 24 years. During her twenty-four years as principal, she led three campuses and was given the opportunity to open two new schools.
Dr. Moton is a proud member of Mt. Horeb Missionary Baptist Church. She served on Mt. Horeb’s Executive Board. She is an active member of both the Women of Worth and the Christian Education Departments where focus is given to supporting the education of Mt. Horeb’s youth through scholarships and much more. She serves as a board member of S&S Heritage Non-profit.
In 2021, God gave Dr. Moton the vision to start Moton Heritage LLC with her family in mind. She is on a quest to build a legacy for her family. She and her daughters had several family meetings and decided to open a franchise. After some research, they signed a franchise agreement with Cinnaholic (A gourmet cinnamon roll bakery). Cinnaholic was featured on Shark Tank. Cinnaholic opened it’s doors July of 2022.. Dr. Moton is a firm believer that ALL things are possible with God!
